This gap analysis was guided by research priorities that fall into two categories: syntheses and new/primary research. In the first category, there are needs for syntheses of research on indigenous economies and on the impact of land ownership on economic development. In the second category, new research is needed on: contemporary community economies by region; the impact of public expenditures on regional economies; and the role of the private sector in regional economic development.
